Major South African philanthropist, Eric Samson, visits Israel and
bestows his generosity on the children of Beit Issie Shapiro

On their recent trip to Israel, where
Sheila and Eric Samson
were honored
by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the 2013 Eric and Sheila Samson
Prime Minister’s Prize for Innovation in Alternative Fuels for Transportation,
the Samsons visited Beit Issie Shapiro and newly elected mayor Ze’ev Bielski.
During the visit,
Caron Bielski
, chair of Beit Issie Shapiro’s board of directors
said, “Many charities are close to our heart but for me, Beit
Issie Shapiro has become a second home. I’m proud of the
tremendous impact on the children and their families. Also, this
is an organization run like a business in its accountability and
transparency in its use of donor money.”

Toronto brought together leaders in the business community and

was a great opportunity to raise awareness of Beit
