The Dual Diagnosis team recently benefitted from a full-day intensve study program presented by UK experts, Prof. Jeremy Turk and psychologist, Julia Avnon, heightening interest in the need to develop comprehensive assessment and treatment services for those with developmental disabilities and psychological and emotional disorders.

New Approach to Dental Visits May Ease Kids’ Fears

A trip to the dentist can make even the most easy-going child nervous. A new study by Michele Shapiro, Ph.D. suggests that altering the sensory environment in the office particularly sound and lighting can considerably lower children's anxiety, especially for those with developmental disabilities. In June, Dr. Michele Shapiro and Mona Julius, our experts in controlled multisensory stimulation, were invited to participate in a conference on the Worldwide Snoezelen organization, in Holland.

Recognition for Raanana Youth Volunteers

This year was the 19th year in which Beit Issie Shapiro has jointly with the Municipality of Raanana and the Achimeir and Lichtman families, hosted a ceremony to express appreciation for the wonderful voluntary work done by young people in Raanana.
